Vehicle Management Controller

Flitwick, Bedfordshire £40,000 Basic Salary Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 5:00pm | No Weekends

Are you an experienced automotive professional looking to step away from the workshop and into a professional office-based role?

Our client, a leading fleet management consultancy based in Flitwick, is expanding and looking to recruit a Vehicle Management Controller to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Vehicle Technician, Workshop Controller, Diagnostic Technician, Service Advisor or automotive professional with strong technical knowledge to utilise their expertise in a rewarding fleet environment.

The Role

As a Fleet Maintenance Controller, you will be responsible for managing vehicle repairs and maintenance across a fleet operation, ensuring repairs are necessary, cost-effective and completed efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing repair requests submitted via the company's internal system
• Assessing repairs to ensure they are required and appropriately costed
• Checking labour times and repair recommendations
• Authorising repairs and managing the repair process from start to finish
• Monitoring vehicle downtime and ensuring jobs progress efficiently
• Liaising with garages, workshops and repair providers
• Arranging hire or replacement vehicles where required
• Keeping drivers informed with regular repair updates
• Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems
• Building strong relationships with repairers, drivers and clients

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Strong automotive technical knowledge
• Experience within a workshop, service or aftersales environment
• The ability to assess repairs and labour times
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Good IT and administrative abilities
• A professional and customer-focused approach
• The ability to manage multiple jobs at once

Previous fleet experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.
