Contract: Temporary sick cover

We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Purchasing Assistant to join a busy team based in Bedford. This is a great opportunity for an organised and proactive individual with purchasing or administration experience.

The Role

As a Purchasing Assistant, you will support the purchasing team with the day-to-day procurement and administration activities, helping to ensure orders are processed accurately and efficiently.

Key responsibilities:

• Raising and processing purchase orders
• Liaising with suppliers and internal departments
• Obtaining quotations and checking pricing
• Monitoring outstanding orders and deliveries
• Maintaining accurate purchasing records and systems
• Assisting with invoice and delivery queries
• Supporting the wider purchasing team with administrative tasks
• Ensuring purchasing information is kept up to date

About You

The ideal candidate will be:

• Previous experience in purchasing from an engineering components company, procurement, supply chain or administration
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Confident communicating with suppliers and colleagues
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and computerised systems
• Able to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Reliable, proactive and a good team player
• Available to work full-time on a temporary basis
