Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Care

💷 £40,000–£45,000 per year
⏰ 40 hours per week

We are recruiting an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of a children’s residential home.

As a Deputy Manager, you will:

• Support and deputise for the Registered Manager.
• Lead, supervise and develop the residential care team.
• Lead shifts and support staffing/rotas.
• Safeguard children and young people.
• Ensure high-quality, child-centred residential childcare.
• Support care plans, risk assessments and behaviour plans.
• Manage challenging and complex situations.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.
• Support Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted requirements.
• Contribute to audits, quality assurance and service improvement.
• Work with families, social workers and other professionals.
• Participate in management on-call duties where required.

About You

• Experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader, Deputy Manager or similar within children’s residential care.
• Level 3 Residential Childcare / Children & Young People qualification or equivalent.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
• Leadership and team management experience.
• Experience managing risk and challenging situations.
• Good communication, organisation and report-writing skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable: Level 5 Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, experience with Ofsted/audits, staff supervision and knowledge of trauma-informed care/PBS.
