Accounts Assistant (Payroll)

37.5 hours (consider school hours)

£28-33,000

We're working with a well-established and growing business looking to add an experienced Accounts Assistant to their finance team.

This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys getting involved in all aspects of finance, from payroll and reconciliations through to supporting month-end processes and maintaining accurate financial records. You'll be joining a friendly, supportive environment where your contribution will be valued and where there is opportunity to develop your skills further.

The Role

As Accounts Assistant, you'll play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function. Responsibilities will include:

• Processing payroll, including deductions, payments and HMRC submissions
• Reconciling bank statements and company accounts
• Processing receipts and payments accurately
• Preparing and issuing invoices
• Maintaining financial records and databases
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes
• Assisting with financial reporting and administrative tasks
• Liaising with internal teams and external contacts as required

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• A minimum AAT Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience)
• Payroll experience is essential
• At least 3 years' experience within an accounts position
• Experience using Xero accounting software & Sage Payroll is ideal
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
